Cannasseurs Club sits on Vanowen St in North Hollywood, which puts much of the East Valley within a short drive. Below you will find the main route from seven nearby neighborhoods, plus the checks worth doing before you get in the car.

Where the store sits on the map

Cannasseurs Club is at 11307 Vanowen St, just east of Tujunga Ave, between Lankershim Blvd to the west and Vineland Ave to the east. Two reference points make it easy to place. It is about 1.5 miles east of the Vanowen St exit on the 170 freeway, and under two miles west of the Hollywood Burbank Airport terminal. We have been serving the San Fernando Valley since 2007, and the full address, hours and directions are on our North Hollywood dispensary page.

Vanowen runs east and west across the Valley, so most of the routes below end with a turn onto it. Learn where Vanowen meets Tujunga and you can find the store from almost anywhere nearby.

South of the store: Valley Village, Studio City, Toluca Lake and Sherman Oaks

Valley Village

Valley Village is under three miles away. From Magnolia Blvd or Chandler Blvd, head north on Laurel Canyon Blvd or Tujunga Ave to Vanowen St and turn right (east). Our dispensary near Valley Village page has the full directions.

Studio City

From Ventura Blvd, go north on Laurel Canyon Blvd or Tujunga Ave, or hop on the 170. It is about four miles. Starting in Tujunga Village? It is about as simple as it gets: take Tujunga Ave north to Vanowen, turn right, and the store is just past the corner. More on our dispensary near Studio City page.

Toluca Lake

Take Lankershim Blvd north to Vanowen St and turn right (east). The store is just past Tujunga Ave. See our dispensary near Toluca Lake page for details.

Sherman Oaks

Sherman Oaks is the longest drive on this list. Take the 101 to the 170 north, exit at Vanowen and head east about 1.5 miles, or take Vanowen St east the whole way. Our dispensary near Sherman Oaks page covers both routes.

West, east and north: Van Nuys, Burbank and Sun Valley

Van Nuys

From central Van Nuys (Van Nuys Blvd), it is one long, straight run: Vanowen St east for about four miles. You will cross Woodman Ave and Coldwater Canyon Ave, pass under the 170, then cross Laurel Canyon Blvd and Lankershim Blvd. The store is just past Tujunga Ave. Van Nuys has licensed shops of its own too; if you are weighing the drive, our dispensary near Van Nuys page lays it out.

Burbank

Burbank has strict limits on cannabis retail, so many Burbank shoppers cross the city line. From Downtown Burbank, take Magnolia Blvd or Burbank Blvd west to Vineland Ave, go north on Vineland, then turn left (west) on Vanowen. The store is less than half a mile along, just before Tujunga Ave. Coming straight from Hollywood Burbank Airport? It is under two miles west via Vineland Ave and Vanowen St. Details are on our dispensary near Burbank page.

Sun Valley

Head south on Vineland Ave, Lankershim Blvd or Laurel Canyon Blvd to Vanowen St. It is about three to four miles, and our dispensary near Sun Valley page has more on the route.

Check the license before you go

Every legal dispensary in California holds a state license from the Department of Cannabis Control, and you can look up any shop on the DCC's online license search before you drive over. Ours is C12-0000361-LIC, for both adult-use and medical retail. Once you are inside, a licensed shop checks your ID (21+, or 18+ with a valid physician's recommendation for medical patients), sells products that carry the California universal cannabis symbol, and lists the cannabis excise tax on your receipt. If any of that is missing, keep driving. Our guide to spotting a licensed dispensary goes through the red flags.

Check the live menu before you drive

A drive across the Valley is not worth it for something that sold out this morning. Our live menu is linked to the store's point of sale, so it shows current stock, prices and THC figures. We carry a wide range of California brands, and our own house flower rotates with each harvest, so a quick look first can save you a wasted trip. If you have a favorite house strain, check on the day you plan to come, since jars change as batches sell through and new harvests arrive.

Budtender tip: Screenshot the menu item you want before you leave, with the brand, size and THC figure showing. At the counter it takes seconds to find, even on a busy day.

Timing the trip

  • Rush hour: the 101 and the 170 both back up at rush hour. If you are coming from Sherman Oaks or Studio City at peak times, compare the surface-street routes above in your map app before committing to the freeway.
  • Hours: we are open 10 AM to 10 PM every day, so a midday visit usually dodges the worst of the commute.
  • Flying out: cannabis cannot cross state lines or go through airport security, so do not shop on the way to a departing flight from Hollywood Burbank Airport.
  • What to bring: a valid government photo ID and cash. There is an ATM in the store.
  • Getting home: keep your purchase sealed, or in the trunk if a package has been opened, and never drive after using cannabis.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a medical recommendation to shop in the Valley?

No. Adults 21+ can shop at any licensed dispensary with a valid government photo ID. Medical patients 18 to 20 need a valid physician's recommendation.

How much cannabis can I buy in one day?

California's daily limit for adult-use customers is 28.5 grams of non-concentrated cannabis, 8 grams of concentrate and 6 immature plants.

Can I take the Metro to the store?

The North Hollywood Metro station, near Lankershim and Magnolia, is roughly two miles south of the store. From there it is a short car or rideshare trip north on Lankershim; our NoHo Arts District guide has the details.

How should I carry cannabis home in the car?

Keep it in a sealed container or in the trunk, stay within the possession limits, and never use it in the vehicle, whether you are driving or riding.

Are other dispensaries in the Valley licensed?

Many are. You can check any shop's state license on the Department of Cannabis Control's online license search before you visit.
